Regarding carbon peak and carbon neutrality, China Quality Certification Centre (hereinafter referred to as “CQC”) holds qualifications as a third-party service provider for domestic and international emission reduction project validation and verification, national and pilot province/municipality carbon emission trading verification, carbon neutrality certification, formulation of carbon peak and carbon neutrality implement plan, preparation of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories on provincial and municipal levels, audit of energy-saving technical retrofit projects granted with national fiscal and financial incentives, and industrial energy conservation diagnostics. CQC also provides professional technical support for national and local climate change authorities through its research in low carbon technology. Some of its research results have been applied to policy guidelines, national standards, and industry standards for national and pilot carbon emission trading. It is one of pioneers in China’s relevant standards of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. Additionally, CQC serves as the Secretariat of National Carbon Emissions Management Standardization Technical Committee and Low Carbon Certification Technical Committee.

Currently, the services related to carbon peak and carbon neutrality include, but are not limited to, national and pilot province/municipality carbon emission trading verification, domestic and international GHG emission reduction project validation and verification, preparation of GHG inventories on provincial and municipal levels, customized solutions to carbon peak and carbon neutrality pathways, organizational-level GHG inventory verification, carbon label (carbon footprint) certification, zero-carbon factory assessment, specialized service certification in low carbon sector, and technical support for basic data verification in the formulation of carbon peaking action plan for central enterprises. The services provided by CQC essentially cover all demands in the third-party certification market in terms of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
