On November 4, 2024, a delegation of experts from the European Union Delegation to China (EUD), the Sino-European Project for the Enhancement of Consumer Product Safety (SPEAC), and the Seconded European Standardization Expert in China (SESEC) visited the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC). The parties had in-depth exchanges on topics such as the EU's quality and safety management system, the latest standards, regulatory policies, and product areas where Chinese companies may be interested in exporting to the EU market.
In the afternoon of the same day, under the guidance of the China Association for Quality and Safety of Consumer Products, CQC, together with SPEAC, SESEC, and Amazon, successfully held the 10th event of the "Global Certification Made in China" series - Training on Product Safety Information for the EU Market. The event attracted over 20,000 participants through online and offline channels.
During the event, Liu Jiang, the Managing Director of CQC, delivered a welcome speech and emphasized the core position of product quality and safety in international trade activities for enterprises. He stated that CQC will continue to strictly control quality and ensure safety for Chinese companies exporting to the EU, continuously promoting the facilitation of Sino-European trade and high-quality economic development.
Wang Kun, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Association for Quality and Safety of Consumer Products, elaborated on the importance of export commodity safety and compliance in Sino-European trade in his speech. He expressed that while promoting the stable development of Sino-European trade, ensuring consumer safety should be regarded as the top priority. He hopes to deepen cooperation with CQC in the future to jointly provide the strongest guarantee and support for consumers in Sino-European trade.
Gianluca Ghiara, the head of SPEAC, highly praised the outstanding contributions of CQC in promoting the high-quality development of Sino-European trade. He noted that as the EU's second-largest trading partner, China continuously exports high-quality, compliant, and demanding products to the EU market. CQC, as an authoritative third-party for ensuring product quality, has played a crucial role in this process.
During the meeting, experts from CQC, SPEAC, SESEC, and Amazon provided key interpretations on international certification-related compliance requirements for export products, the EU market regulatory system, the EU standardization system, and e-commerce platform safety and compliance management requirements. They systematically reviewed the latest regulatory documents for products exported to the EU, shared good practices and effective tools in the field of product safety, and provided detailed answers to various questions raised by participants. The event not only deepened the mutual trust and understanding between CQC and related organizations but also laid a solid foundation for exploring multifaceted cooperation in new areas.
Looking ahead, CQC will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign parties, continue to play its leading role in quality services, provide more international market access information and technical support for Chinese enterprises, and help them further enhance their international trade competitiveness. CQC will also join forces with various parties to promote global product quality improvement and provide safer and more reliable products for global consumers.
