GB 19577-2024 "Energy Efficiency Limit Values and Energy Efficiency Grades for Heat Pumps and Chillers" (hereinafter referred to as the "New Standard") was released on April 29, 2024, and will be implemented from February 1, 2025, replacing GB 19577-2015 (hereinafter referred to as the "Old Standard").

Additionally, the CQC31-439137-2024 "Energy Efficiency Certification Rules for Heat Pumps and Chillers" (hereinafter referred to as the "New Rules") have been released, replacing CQC31-439136-2016 "Energy Efficiency Certification Rules for Chillers" (hereinafter referred to as the "Old Rules").

The requirements for implementing the Energy Efficiency Certification for chillers and related products based on the New Standard are as follows:

2. Requirements for Implementing the New Standard

1. From the date of this notification until February 1, 2025, applicants may voluntarily choose to apply for certification under either the New Standard or the Old Standard.

2. From February 1, 2025, CQC will implement certification according to the New Standard and issue certificates based on the New Standard.

3. Follow-up inspections for certified products will be conducted according to the standard versions listed in the valid certificates.

4. For products already certified under the Old Standard, the holders of Old Standard certificates may apply for conversion to the New Standard certification no later than the effective date of the New Standard and before the first follow-up inspection. It is also necessary to undergo testing for differences between the New and Old Standards. The New Standard certificate will be issued upon passing the test.

5. The conversion of Old Standard certificates must be completed by February 1, 2026. If not completed by then, CQC will suspend the certification; if the conversion is still not completed after February 1, 2027, the Old Standard certificates will be revoked.
