On June 27, 2024, the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) and UL Solutions jointly held a symposium on the international cooperation project for household appliance product certification and presented the first certificates of international cooperation project. Liu Jiang, Managing Director of CQC, and David Wu, Global Vice President of UL Solutions and General Manager of UL Solutions for Mainland China and Hong Kong, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
Liu Jiang emphasized in his speech that UL Solutions, with a 130-year history and extensive global operations, and CQC, as a leading quality service provider in China, have enjoyed a solid foundation of cooperation for many years. He expressed the hope for continued strengthening of exchanges and cooperation to jointly serve customer needs and foster sustainable development of their partnership.
David Wu reviewed the history of cooperation between UL Solutions and CQC and highly praised the current collaboration project. He noted that the "one test, two certificates" service model will provide customers with a better experience and facilitate enterprises' international expansion. He also expressed the intention to take this cooperation as a new starting point to further deepen collaboration and joint development in broader areas, offering high-quality services to clients.
At the symposium, technical experts from CQC, UL Solutions, and related testing bodies introduced the background, significance, testing standards, and methodologies of the certification projects for motor-compressor insulation system compatibility and safety of components used in air conditioners with flammable refrigerants. Enterprise representatives expressed high recognition for the "one test, two certificates" cooperation model between CQC and UL Solutions, noting that it significantly shortens certification cycles, improves efficiency, and reduces costs. Participants also engaged in in-depth discussions on further expanding international cooperation in product certification, deepening the "one test, two certificates" model, and promoting wider acceptance of certification results.
This cooperation is a follow-up to the memorandum of cooperation signed between CCIC and UL Solutions in June 2023. In the future, CQC will continue to fulfill its mission and responsibilities as a national-level quality service provider, continuously enhance its technical service capabilities, further display its leading role in the certification industry, and deepen international cooperation in quality certification to support the high-quality development of enterprises across industries.
