On August 28, 2024, the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) granted Alibaba Cloud Computing Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Alibaba Cloud") the first ISO 42001 Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) certificate, which is also the world's first certificate in this field granted by the International Quality Network for Certification Bodies (IQNET).

ISO/IEC 42001:2023, an international standard published and implemented by the International Organization for Standardization in December 2023, provides organizations with a comprehensive framework for managing AI systems, covering all aspects from research and development, deployment, operation, and monitoring. This standard emphasizes the pivotal role of organizational culture, capabilities, and governance in AI management, fostering trust among stakeholders for organizations offering or utilizing AI-based products and services.

A senior executive from Alibaba Cloud remarked that receiving the ISO 42001 AIMS certification from CQC is a testament to Alibaba Cloud's high level of compliance management capabilities in AI, marking a significant milestone in its AI governance journey. In the future, Alibaba Cloud will continue to enhance its management practices in accordance with ISO/IEC 42001:2023 standards, offering customers AI-integrated services that are safe, robust, fair, and trustworthy.

After developing the AIMS certification service, the System Certification Department of CQC has actively and steadily promoted service while fostering deep cooperation with IQNET.
