On August 9, 2024, a signing ceremony for the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Facilitating Inspection, Testing, and Certification between the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) and the Yiwu Municipal Government was held in Yiwu. Shao Chunhong, the Vice Mayor of Yiwu Municipal Government, and Liu Jiang, Managing Director of CQC, attended the ceremony and signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Wang Junwei, Deputy Director of the Yiwu International Trade Comprehensive Reform Pilot Zone Management Committee, heads of departments from Yiwu Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau and CQC, as well as representatives from associations and testing bodies in Yiwu, also participated in the event.

During the talks, Wang Junwei pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping has positioned Yiwu as the "Capital of Small Commodities in the World," and Yiwu's International Trade Comprehensive Reform Pilot is a national-level comprehensive reform pilot. To promote high-quality economic development and the development of new productive forces in Yiwu, the city is taking the toy industry as a breakthrough point and actively exploring reforms to facilitate inspection, testing, and certification. It is hoped that through deep cooperation with CQC, the level of convenience for local inspection and certification in Yiwu will be significantly improved, facilitating the connection between domestic and foreign trade inspection and certification, and accelerating the integrated development of domestic and foreign trade.

Liu Jiang expressed that CQC is a leading and internationally renowned quality service body in China, dedicated to providing professional certification, inspection and testing, and comprehensive quality services related to standardization for its clients. As a "national" quality service body, CQC will give full play to its professional advantages and resource accumulation in the field of National Quality Infrastructure, providing strong support for quality improvement and facilitating international and domestic trade for Yiwu enterprises, and assisting Yiwu in strengthening the construction of quality infrastructure such as inspection and certification.

According to the strategic cooperation agreement, both parties will focus on expanding exchanges and deepening cooperation in establishing the CQC Yiwu Service Center, laboratory construction, and deploying an integrated platform for inspection and testing technical services and quality traceability, considering the characteristics of the toy industry chain in Yiwu. This will promote the sharing, collaboration, integration, and complementarity of advantageous resources, achieve mutual benefit, win-win results, and common development, jointly creating a new chapter in the cooperation between the central and local governments.
