China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) has recently revised CQC51-020304-2014 China Environmental Protection Products (Type II) Certification Rules, the revised rules are CQC51-020304-2024 Environmental Protection Products (Type II) Certification Rules, which involve the service category No. 703021. The revisions and implementation requirements are notified below.
I. Main revisions
(1) Additional changes to “4. Documentation review”, certification referenced standard changed to GB 24021-2024/ISO 14021:2024;
(2) The inspection term “5.1.1 Factory Quality Assurance Capability Inspection” has been revised;
(3) “5.2 On-site verification time” has been adjusted;
(4) Revised the statement in “8.Expiry of certificate”;
(5) “9.1.1 Validity of the certificate” was supplemented;
(6) replaced the certification mark.
II. Implementation of certification requirements
(1) Since the release of this notice, the new certificate template will be used. Environmental Products (Type II) certification will be implemented in accordance with the revised rules for the implementation of certification and the new version of certificate will be used. For certificates issued under the old certification rules, a natural transition approach is proposed. Applicants can complete the certificate conversion in conjunction with certificate renewal, annual supervision, and product changes; for the old version of the logo that has been printed or embossed, companies can use a natural transition method to consume them.
(2) Certificate conversion method: the certificate holder submits the conversion application to CQC and provides the information required.
