The Sri Lanka Standards Institution Visits CQC and Conducts Training on Sri Lanka's Mandatory Product Certification

On June 18, 2024, Siddhika Senaratne, Director of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), and her delegation including Deputy Director M.B.D. Neelakanthi visited the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC). Liu Jiang, the Deputy Managing Director of CQC, extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. Representatives from the Sri Lanka Hualan Inspection and Technical Services Co., Ltd., as well as relevant departments and branches of CQC, participated in the meeting.

Liu Jiang emphasized that the SLSI has been an important partner of CQC, and through joint efforts, a solid foundation of cooperation has been established between the two sides. As the designated technical agency of the SLSI, CQC will strictly control the quality of exported products, facilitating the entry of high-quality products into the Sri Lankan market.


Siddhika Senaratne highly praised the efforts made by CQC in ensuring product quality and promoting trade facilitation, expressing the hope that through bilateral cooperation, more convenient and efficient services can be provided to enterprises in both countries, thereby bringing greater benefits to the people of both nations.

On June 19, upon the invitation and organization of CQC, experts from the SLSI conducted a training session on Sri Lanka's Mandatory Product Certification under the theme of "Standards Lead, Quality Comes First." During the training, the experts from the SLSI comprehensively outlined the relevant testing, certification, and regulatory requirements for exporting goods to Sri Lanka, systematically introduced Sri Lanka's conformity assessment system, and provided detailed answers to questions raised by participants, helping CQC staff gain a deeper understanding of Sri Lanka's market access and regulatory systems.

In the future, CQC will continue to actively respond to the "Belt and Road" Initiative, further deepen strategic cooperation with the SLSI, provide more high-quality, efficient, and convenient quality certification services to enterprises on both sides, and contribute to promoting mutually beneficial economic cooperation between China and Sri Lanka.
