On June 12, 2024, the Certification Supervision Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) convened a conference in Beijing to analyze issues arising from random inspections on the effectiveness of CCC certification for electronic products and discuss strategies for enhancing the quality of electronic products. The China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), as the designated CCC certification body for electronic products, was entrusted to organize this event. Participants included relevant officials from the Certification Supervision Department and its related divisions of the SAMR, Liu Jiang, the Deputy Managing Director of CQC, representatives from 10 designated CCC certification bodies and relevant testing bodies in the field of electronic products, as well as representatives from certified enterprises.

The meeting provided an overview of recent random inspections on the effectiveness of CCC certification in the electronic product sector, conducting a thorough investigation and analysis of two typical problem cases involving fire safety and electromagnetic compatibility issues discovered during these inspections. During the meeting, CQC representatives introduced the implemented measures for risk prevention and control, as well as quality improvement in certification. Participants engaged in extensive discussions on related issues and proposed future directions for quality enhancement efforts.

Officials from the Certification Supervision Department of the SAMR emphasized that designated CCC certification bodies must elevate their political awareness, strictly fulfill their primary responsibility for ensuring the effectiveness of certification, and diligently carry out the "safety guarantee" function of CCC certification. They also stressed the importance of strengthening and improving closed-loop management requirements in areas such as random inspections, monitoring and evaluation, risk identification, and traceability and disposal of CCC certification effectiveness. By focusing on the analysis of typical problem cases as a "small entry point," the effectiveness and credibility of all implementation stages of CCC certification can be continuously improved.

Liu Jiang affirmed that CQC, as a national-level quality service organization, will continue to enhance its capabilities, refine risk prevention and control measures, and provide technical support for the development and improvement of the national certification system.
