The new standard GB 41317-2024 "Stainless Steel Corrugated Hoses for Gas Appliance Connections" has been published. China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) has revised the certification rule for relevant component products. Here are the details of the rule revisions and the requirements for implementing the new standard:

- New standard: GB 41317-2024

- New Version Certification Rule: CQC16-448323-2023 "Performance Certification Rules for Stainless Steel Corrugated Hoses for Gas Appliance Connections".

Major Revision Details in the Implementation Rules:

1. The developer of this rule has been updated to "China Quality Certification Center Limited".

2. GB 41317-2024 replaces GB/T 41317-2022

6. Modification of documentary evidence in section 3.2.2 by adding "Applications from individuals, producers and manufacturers listed in the National Credit Information List of Seriously Dishonest Entities will not be accepted".

7. Modification of type test items to Table 15 + clauses 5.3.2 and 5.3.3.

8. Adjustments to the allowed art of certification mark in clause 10.1 to allow the use of deformed logos (CQC etc.) for certified products that require certification logos of 10mm or less.

9. Adjustments to the list of key components/raw materials in Appendix 1 with the addition of requirements in "Note 1" and "Note 2".

10. Adjustments to the quality control test requirements for stainless steel corrugated hoses in gas appliance connections in Appendix 2.

Implementation of new standard requirements:

1. From the date of this notice until 31 July 2024, applicants for certification may choose to apply for certification either under the new standard, or the old standard. From 1 August 2024, CQC will implement certification under the new standard and issue appropriate certificates.

2. For existing certified products, the conversion of certificates will take place with standard updating. Valid certificates can continue to be used until the conversion deadline.

3. Standard updates may trigger tests based on discrepancies between the old and new standards. Once qualified by CQC, certificates based on new standard can be issued.

4. The conversion of certificates based on the old standard will be completed by August 30, 2024. Certificates that are not converted by the deadline will be temporarily suspended. Certificates that have not completed the update process by September 30, 2024, will have their old standard certificates revoked.

5. All relevant laboratories should promptly inform CQC about their capabilities in testing according to the new standard and should promptly document the accreditation and recognition of their qualifications by new standard testing laboratories.
