According to Announcement No. 9 of 2024 from the State Administration for Market Regulation regarding the implementation of compulsory product certification management for commercial gas burners and related products, water-based interior wall paints will be included in the CCC certification scope. Starting from July 1, 2024, CQC will begin accepting certification applications.
Based on the announcement released on April 8, 2024, by the State Certification and Accreditation Administration on the release of the implementation rules for compulsory product certification of wires and cables (Announcement No. 7 of 2024), CQC has developed the CQC-C2101.01-2024 "Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification - Paint Products" following the CNCA-C21-01:2024 "Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification - Decorative and Renovation Products." These rules will be implemented from July 1, 2024, replacing the CQC-C2101.01-2014 "Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification - Solvent-based Wood Coating Products."
The specific requirements for CCC certification of solvent-based wood coatings and water-based interior wall paints are as follows:
1. Starting from July 1, 2024, CQC will begin accepting CCC certification applications for water-based interior wall paints (corresponding product category: 2104).
2. CCC certificates issued by the old version of the implementation rules CNCA-C21-01:2014 "Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification - Decorative and Renovation Materials" for solvent-based wood coating products can continue to be used. The certificates can transit naturally to the new edition rules on occasions of expiration, product changes, or standard updates.
