On April 22-23, the 2024 plenary meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission Wind Energy Generation System Technical Committee (IEC/TC 88) was successfully held in Beijing. The meeting was organized by the National Wind Power Generation Standardization Technical Committee and co-hosted by China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), with more than 80 expert representatives from 11 countries in attendance.

In his speech, Deputy Managing Director of CQC, Xu Shaoshan, stated that as an IECRE Wind Energy Certification Body (RECB), Photovoltaic Inspection Body (REIB), and Certification Body, CQC has long been committed to standardization work in the renewable energy field. In recent years, CQC has continuously strengthened its participation in international standardization and mutual recognition system construction and exchange cooperation. It has recommended multiple experts to join the IEC/TC 88 working groups, aiming to promote the internationalization of Chinese brands with high standards, high quality, and high efficiency services. CQC has provided practical Chinese solutions for the global green transformation of energy and demonstrated China's wisdom and contribution to global energy governance.

The meeting extensively discussed international standardization and future development of wind energy generation systems. Jeroen Van Dam, Chairman of IEC/TC 88, expressed gratitude to the co-hosting partners for their efforts and achievements in participating in the construction of international wind energy standards. He also expressed the desire to further strengthen communication and cooperation among all parties. Alistair Mackinnon, Chairman of IECRE, particularly thanked the experts from CQC for their active role in the discussion and formulation of working group rules.

The successful hosting of this meeting not only built a bridge for international exchanges and cooperation in wind energy generation standardization but also laid a solid foundation for the global promotion of Chinese wind energy technology. In the future, CQC will continue to participate in the international standardization work of IEC/TC 88 and actively contribute to the widespread application of Chinese wind energy globally.
