The China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) has successfully passed the International Electrotechnical Commission's Renewable Energy System (IECRE) re-evaluation for Photovoltaic (PV) projects with zero non-conformities, affirming its dual qualifications as both a Certification Body (RECB) and Inspection Body (REIB).
The re-evaluation was led by an international peer review team, with Roger J. Taylor from the Germany-based TEXXECURE Certification Foundation and Tsuyoshi Shioda from Mitsui Chemicals, Japan. Over the course of four days, the team conducted an exhaustive and meticulous review covering CQC's staff, equipment, project history, technical prowess, and the operational efficacy of its quality system. The high standard of management, exceptional quality of personnel, and the adherence to proper procedures on-site at CQC were met with outstanding evaluations from the team.
IECRE is part of the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) four largest conformity assessment systems — alongside schemes for IECEE, IECQ, and IECEx. The IECRE PV certification system is designed to set a uniform certification approach for different types of power station systems and to endorse mutual recognition of certificates and inspection results amongst stakeholders. This contributes greatly to ensuring the safety of power installations, improving quality management in the industry, reducing financial risks, and bolstering financial services.
Since 2017, CQC has been actively contributing to the development of the IECRE framework and was one of the first third-party quality service organizations worldwide to receive dual authorization for PV certification and inspection within the IECRE.
The success in the latest IECRE re-evaluation marks a significant milestone for CQC, reinforcing its capacity for inspection and certification in the PV sector. Looking to the future, CQC is committed to its guiding principles of "transmitting trust, quality empowerment, and cooperative success," aiming to provide superior and comprehensive one-stop quality services that raise the quality of global investments in new energy projects.
