China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) has recently achieved project approval for three national standards focused on carbon peak and neutrality. The standards include "Guidelines for Zero-Carbon Factory Evaluation in the Electrical and Electronic Industry," "Requirements and Guidelines for Electrical and Electronic Product Carbon Footprint Quantification," and "Guidelines for Baseline Quantification of Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction for Electrical and Electronic Products and Systems." These standards will be overseen by the National Technical Committee for Environmental Standardization of Electrical and Electronic Products and Systems (SAC/TC297).
The development of these national standards represents a significant commitment by CQC to support China's "dual carbon" objectives --- namely, reaching a carbon peak and achieving carbon neutrality. The efforts align with promoting sustainable, green growth through the enhancement of standardized "dual carbon" approaches. CQC, while serving as the secretariat for SAC/TC297 and leading the development of these three standards, will spearhead collaborative efforts, actively reach out to gather a wide range of inputs, and coordinate resources to ensure that the development of these standards is both high in quality and efficiently executed.
Looking ahead, CQC is set to firmly advance "dual carbon" standardization efforts. By leading industry-wide green and low-carbon transformations, establishing rigor in product carbon footprint assessments, and driving the evaluation of zero-carbon factories, CQC aims to significantly contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. These endeavors are expected to offer robust support for achieving the national "dual carbon" goals.
