To All Concerned Enterprises:

GB/T 7251.2-2023 "Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies - Part 2: switchgear and controlgear assemblies" (hereinafter referred to as the "new standard") was released on August 6, 2023. It will be implemented on March 1, 2024, replacing GB/T 7251.12-2013 (hereinafter referred to as the "old standard"). CQC has revised the certification rules related to this standard, CQC12-000001-2020 "General Rules of Type II Voluntary Certification," applyingto product certification category 107501.

I. Main revisions in the implementation rules:

1. The certification referenced standard GB/T 7251.2-2023 replaces GB/T 7251.12-2013.

2. Modification of corresponding clause codes and names in Table 5-5 and Table 5-9 in Appendix 5 according to the new standard.

3. Addition of conditions covered by the initial factory inspection for low-voltage switchgear assemblies.

II. Requirements for implementing the new standard and rules:

1. From October 27, 2023, to February 29, 2024, enterprises may apply for certification according to either the new standard or the old standard. Starting from March 1, 2024, CQC will implement certification according to the new standard and issue certificates based on the new standard, ceasing the issuance of certificates based on the old standard.

2. For products certified according to the old standard, the process of certificateconversion dueto standard revision begins from October 27, 2023and will be ceased by February 28, 2025. Certificates not converted then will be temporarily suspended. Certificates that have not completed the conversion process by March 1, 2026, will be revoked.

3. Relevant laboratories shall promptly report to CQC regarding their testing capabilities according to the new standard and file cases of accreditation and recognition under the new standard.
