On November 7, 2023, CQC attended the thematic session on Conformity assessment and e-commerce organized by the Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The thematic session aims to share the exploration and practices of conformity assessment in e-commerce, explore how standardization can help conformity assessment in new forms, and analyze how to further strengthen market supervision to ensure the quality of products in e-commerce transactions. The conference was held online and offline, and more than 100 delegates from dozens of countries attended. Representatives of conformity assessment bodies, accreditation organizations, standardization bodies and market regulatory agencies from multiple countries and regions including China, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Indonesia made speeches.

As the representative of conformity assessment bodies in China, the expert of CQC analyzed the challenges brought by e-commerce to conformity assessment. She shared the good practices of CQC as a quality service organization in improving the quality of e-commerce products and enabling e-commerce enterprises to "sell globally". She introduced two international standards related to the quality assurance of e-commerce products, which are being developed by CQC, and discussed how standardization in the digital field of conformity assessment can help the healthy development of global e-commerce.

CQC, as the "national team" for quality services, is always committed to serving and promoting the rapid, healthy, and sustainable development of e-commerce in China. Through international "one-stop" services, CQC aims to effectively reduce the risk of product recalls and market regulatory penalties caused by trade barriers or non-compliance of enterprises, and actively facilitate the export of Chinese products.
