• Health Certification

Health certification covers healthy household appliances, intelligent household appliances, green household appliances, etc.

• Food Contact Product Safety Certification

1. Certification scope: applicable to the safety certification of food contact products, such as electric cookers, kitchen machinery, coffee maker, tableware and food processing appliances.

2. Key points of assessment

1）Pay attention to whether all food contact products/parts meet the standard Food contact products are judged according to the following three conditions:

          √ They have been in contact with food;

          √ They will come into contact with food;

          √ Their ingredients will be transferred into food under normal or foreseeable conditions of use.

• Green Sound Certification

The noise made by household appliances in use has become a pain point for consumers, as well as a major challenge and technical difficulty for modern household appliances manufacturers. Such noise is affected by the function, structure, use environment and status of the products. The impact of noise on people varies due to individual differences.

Green Sound Certification is a scientific evaluation method based on more scientific and rigorous testing on the sound of household appliances, which meets the characteristics of household appliances and satisfies the market demand.

• Intelligent Household Appliances Certification

CQC pays close attention to the development trends of intelligent household appliances industry, always adheres to innovations, actively carries out the research on evaluation and certification of intelligent household appliances, and gradually establishes a set of safety and intelligent certification system covering software evaluation, intelligent household appliances and smart home. Certification results can intuitively present consumers with intelligent household appliances that are safe, reliable, and intelligent, and can effectively enhance the user experience.

Through the test, on the premise of meeting the communications safety and electrical safety of appliances, the scores of the distribution network success rate, interconnection integrity rate, communication success rate, response time, reconnection success rate, total radiated power and total isotropic sensitivity are obtained. The total score is proportionately obtained according to the scores of various test items, which is not less than 60 points. The evaluation result is that the appliances have the interconnection ability, and the interconnection certification certificate of intelligent household appliances is thus issued.

• China Green Product Certification

1.Development milestones

1）In November 2016, the General Office of the State Council issued the Guidelines of the General Office of the State Council on Establishing a Unified Standard, Certification, and Labeling System for Green Products (Guo Ban Fa [2016] No.86), putting forward the requirement of “uniformly issuing green product mark, standard list and certification catalogue, and organizing green product certification according to the standards in the standard list.”

2）In April 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the Announcement on Issuing the Standard List and Certification Catalogue of Green Product Evaluation (Batch I) (Announcement No.2 of 2018), which involves 12 categories of products.

3）In March 2020, CNCA issued an announcement on the qualifications of green product certification bodies and the implementation rules for Batch I certification, marking the official start of green product certification.

4）In December 2020, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued an announcement on the standard list of green product evaluation (Batch II).

5）In December 2021, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued an announcement on the standard list and certification catalogue of green product evaluation (Batch III); in March 2022, CNCA issued an announcement on the implementation rules for the Batch III certification of green products.

• Performance Certification

1.Vacuum Cleaner Cleaning Capability Certification

It is applicable to household and similar vacuum cleaners (including cleaning robots, floor scrubbers, etc.) with a rated voltage of lower than 250V, and not applicable to wet vacuum cleaners, wet function of wet and dry vacuum cleaners, floor/carpet cleaning machine, vacuum floor polisher.

1) Wireless Dry Vacuum Cleaner

An electrical appliance that removes dry matter (e.g., dust, fibers, lint) from the surface being cleaned by creating a flow of air through a vacuum unit. The removed matter is separated and retained in the appliance, and the inhaled air is purified and returned to the ambient air. 

A cordless vacuum cleaner means a dry vacuum cleaner which, when operating, is powered by a battery instead of power grid.

2) Cleaning robot

An automatic floor cleaner that can work autonomously in a certain area without human intervention.

Note: The cleaning robot consists of moving parts and may contain charging stands and/or accessories for auxiliary work.

3) Floor Scrubber:

An electrical appliance that removes dry and wet stains or other contaminants (e.g., beverage and food stains, floor dirt, etc.) from hard floor surfaces by using a mixture of water and detergent solutions and creating a flow of air through a vacuum unit. The removed matter is separated and retained in the appliance, and the inhaled air is purified and returned to the ambient air.

A wired scrubber refers to a scrubber that is powered by the power grid during operation.

A wireless scrubber refers to a scrubber that is powered by a battery instead of the power grid during operation.

4) Wired Horizontal (Barrel) Vacuum Cleaner: 

A vacuum cleaner in which the cleaning head is connected to the main body through a hose, and the user controls the cleaning head to clean the surface through a handle attached to the hose of the vacuum cleaner, while dragging the main body of the vacuum cleaner forward.

Note 1: For this type of vacuum cleaner, the dust collector is generally in the main body of the vacuum cleaner. 

Note 2: In addition to the above features, the dust collector has a capacity of more than 2.5 L and looks like a barrel, which is generally called a barrel vacuum cleaner.

A wired horizontal (barrel) vacuum cleaner refers to a horizontal (barrel) vacuum cleaner powered by the power grid during operation.

5) Wired upright vacuum cleaner:

Free-standing and floor-supported dry vacuum cleaners with an integral cleaning head or a cleaning head permanently attached to the cleaner housing. The cleaning head usually has an agitator to assist in dust removal. The entire housing of the appliance is moved over the surface cleaned by means of an attached handle.

A wired upright vacuum cleaner means an upright vacuum cleaner that powered by power grid during operation.

2. Air Conditioner Comfort and Dehumidification Certification

1) Project Description: In hot and humid summer or humid climate areas, it is very common to use an indoor air conditioner for dehumidification. On the premise of ensuring human comfort, air conditioners with high dehumidification performance can reduce the frequent start and stop of compressors, and shorten the running time of the whole air conditioning system, making it more environmentally friendly and energy-saving.

2) Industry Status: At present, air conditioners have become one of the market segments in China’s household appliance industry, and the consumption demand of domestic residents for air conditioners continues to rise. Meanwhile, driven by relevant national policies, China’s air conditioning market has shown a large-scale improvement. Air conditioners consume more power among household appliances, and products with comfort and high dehumidification can save more energy and reduce emissions.

3) Technical Specifications CQC 1673-2023

(a) Scope: household and similar room air conditioners (free-air supply) with air-cooled and water-cooled condensers, fully enclosed electric motor-compressors and rated cooling capacity below 14,000 W for the purpose of creating a comfortable indoor environment; ducted air conditioners rated at less than 8 kW and intended to operate at an external static pressure of less than 25 Pa; Comfort and dehumidification performance certification of multi-split air conditioning (heat pump) units.

3. Service Robot Performance Certification: Wheeled Robot

1）Industry Status: With the social development and the progress of science and technology, robots have been increasingly and widely used in the current production and life. Mobile robots are a kind of robots developed earlier, especially the wheeled robots. Since then, wheeled mobile robots have attracted extensive attention in academia because of their relatively simple structure and strong adaptability.

2）Project Description: At present, safety and EMC certification projects have been launched for service robots, and wheeled robots are the most common type of service robots. The performance of wheeled robots is evaluated by following the trends of the current product market, strongly supplementing the business scope of CQC.
