On 20th July 2023, the 5th China Carbon Market Development Forum was held in Beijing, jointly hosted by China Energy Conservation Association (CECA) and the Environmental Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEPI), which CQC participated in as an academic support unit.

The conference titled "Zero Carbon Momentum - Green Ambition" aimed at introducing the construction of China's carbon emission trading market and discussing in-depth China's carbon peak technology path, carbon-neutral planning, and innovation of carbon financial products and services. At the themed forum, the head of the Sixth Department of Product Certification at CQC shared his views on "Strengthening Dual-Carbon Capacity Building and the role of Professional Third-Party Service Institutions".

At the conference's invitation, CQC assessed the carbon emissions produced by the event in compliance with the "Guidelines for the Implementation of Carbon Neutrality for Large-Scale Events (for Trial Implementation)". CQC confirmed that the conference organising committee achieved carbon neutrality by procuring and cancelling emission reductions generated by China's voluntary carbon emission reduction projects (CCERs). CQC issued a carbon neutrality certificate to the conference organiser's representatives.

Achieving carbon neutrality at the conference demonstrates CQC's continued effort in working with relevant parties to actively implement the national "dual carbon" development and practice the concept of carbon neutrality. In the future, CQC will continue to fully leverage its carbon verification data assurance capability, scientific research, and innovation in the field of green and low-carbon to assist government authorities in building a reliable data foundation in the carbon trading market, consolidating the groundwork for green and low-carbon development, and guiding the construction of the national carbon market towards the achievement of the 'dual carbon' objective.
