On July 8th and 9th, China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) wasinvitedto take part in the 2023 Guiyang International Forumon Ecological Civilisation. This engagement included the opening ceremony as well asthe Theme Forum titled "Promoting Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality, and Supporting Green, Low-Carbon and High-Quality Development." Distinguished attendees comprised leaders from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), representatives from the development and reform departments of various provinces andcities, "dual carbon" field experts, and associated stakeholders.

At the theme forum, in a significant milestone, the first "Green Water Green Mountain" ecological product certificates were issued in China. This distinction was granted to Guizhou Chishui GuoliJinyu Shijie Development Co., Ltd.,Guizhou Guitianxia Shengxing Tea Co., Ltd., and Guizhou Meitan Maoba Longmai Huangmi Co., Ltd. The certificates werejointly issued by Zhao Penggao,Deputy Director of the Environmental Resources Department of the NDRC,Peng Xianhua, Deputy Director of the Guizhou Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Director of the Guizhou Food and Reserve Bureau, and Xie Zhaoxu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Managing Director ofCQC.

To accelerate the development of a green, low-carbon economy and acircular economy, and to amplify the ecological value of green water and green mountains, CQC has made considerable preparations. After a thorough study, it formulated China's inaugural technical specificationfor certification,predicated on the determination of the connotation, characteristics, and evaluation index system of "GreenWater and Green Mountain" ecological products. CQC then pioneered this certification practice in China, aligning it with green and sustainable development.

In future, CQC will uphold the concept of social responsibility, "certification for people and quality for sharing", continually consolidate technical capabilities, innovate service modes, and make significant contributions to promoting the green transformation of the development mode, supporting the high-quality development of the regional economy and industry.
