On June 30, 2023, CQC, Xinhua News Agency, China Cuisine Association, and JD Group jointly launched the China Prefabricated Food Industry Empowerment Action and the initiation ceremony for prefabricated food product standards and certification in Beijing. Representatives from Xinhua News Agency, China Cuisine Association, JD, Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangxi Province, and relevant organizations attended the initiation ceremony.

Xu Shaoshan, Deputy Director of CQC, expressed in his speech that CQC actively responds to the national rural revitalization strategy and proactively collaborates with various parties to develop prefabricated food product standards and certification. By providing unified reference criteria and evaluation standards for prefabricated food enterprises, CQC aims to help improve their management level, product quality, market competitiveness, and brand reputation, providing consumers with reliable choices.

The prefabricated food product certification standards provide comprehensive and systematic specifications and requirements for prefabricated food products. They consider key factors that affect product safety and nutrition, such as production environment, food safety risks, key production processes, and temperature control requirements. The standards include definitions, classifications, technical requirements, inspection methods, production research and development, supplier selection, label management, and other related requirements. The implementation of prefabricated food product certification aims to ensure comprehensive supervision and control throughout the entire process, from source to end-user, from raw materials to finished products, from production to sales, ensuring requirements for safety, hygiene, quality, and traceability of prefabricated food products are met.

In the future, the CQC will work together with Xinhua News Agency, China Cuisine Association, and JD to implement the national rural revitalization strategy. All the parties will carry out empowerment actions focused on improving the quality, brand promotion, and production-sales connection of prefabricated food products, so as to enhance the quality level of prefabricated food enterprises, expand brand influence, and promote high-quality development of the prefabricated food industry.
