CQC has recently revised the CQC64-448157-2014 "Certification Rules for Safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Disinfection, Purification, Energy Efficiency, and Environmental Protection of Household and Similar Appliances - Air Purifiers" and split the rules into CQC12-448301-2023 "Certification Rules for Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility of Household and Similar Appliances - Air Purifiers" (product category number: 008014), CQC16-448303-2023 "Certification Rules for Disinfection and Purification of Household and Similar Appliances - Air Purifiers" (product category number: 008046), and CQC61-448302-2023 "Certification Rules for Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection of Household and Similar Appliances - Air Purifiers" (product category numbers: energy efficiency 701330, environmental protection 703093). The revised content and relevant requirements are notified as follows:

I. Main Revisions to the Rules

Rule CQC12-448301-2023 "Certification Rules for Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility of Household and Similar Appliances - Air Purifiers"

Revisions:

1. Revised the title to "Certification Rules for Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility of Air Purifiers for Household and Similar Appliances."

2. Added a preamble description: These rules are used in conjunction with CQC12-448100-2009 " General Rules for Household and Similar Appliances Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility Certification " The omitted chapters and sections in these rules indicate that the corresponding provisions in CQC12-448100-2009 are applicable to these certification rules. The sections stated as "replaced" in these rules shall be governed by the provisions of these rules. The chapters in CQC12-448100-2009 that are specified as "regulated in specific certification rules" are directly specified in these rules. The sections stated as "added" in these rules indicate that, in addition to complying with the corresponding provisions of CQC12-448100-2009, the additional provisions in these rules must also be met. The sections stated as "modified" in these rules make adaptive adjustments to the corresponding provisions of CQC12-448100-2009.

Revisions:

1. Replaced the standard GB/T 18801-2015 with GB/T 18801-2022.

2. Adjusted the scope of application according to GB/T 18801-2022.

3. Adjusted the inspection items and requirements in 4.2.2 and Table 1 and its notes based on GB/T 18801-2022.

4. Retained only the certification rules for disinfection and purification.CQC61-448302-2023

"Certification Rules for Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection of Household and Similar Appliances - Air Purifiers"

Revisions:

1. Replaced the standard GB/T 18801-2015 with GB/T 18801-2022.

2. Adjusted the scope of application according to GB/T 18801-2022.

3. Adjusted the inspection items and requirements in 4.2.2 and Table 1 and its notes based on GB/T 18801-2022.

4. Retained only the certification rules for energy efficiency and environmental protection.

II. Requirements for Implementing the New Standards

For products that have been certified based on the old standards, the holders of the old standard-based certificates can apply to CQC for conversion to the new standard-based certificates after this announcement is issued. After passing the test, the new standard-based certificates will be issued. The conversion of old certificates should be completed before May 1, 2024. Failure to complete the conversion within the specified time will result in certificate suspension. Old certificates that have not been converted by August 1, 2024, will be revoked.
