The new standard GB17625.1-2022 "Electromagnetic Compatibility - Limits - Part 1: Limits for Harmonic Current Emissions (Equipment Input Current ≤ 16A)" ("new standard") has been published and will be implemented on July 1, 2024, replacing the GB 17625.1-2012 standard ( "old standard").
In light of this, CQC has revised the following documents: CQC12-448100-2009 "General Principles for Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility Certification of Household and Similar Appliances," CQC15-448103-2015 "Rules for Electromagnetic Compatibility Certification of Household and Similar Appliances," CQC14-448138-2023 "Implementation Rules for Safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility, and Performance Certification of Electric Clothes Dryers," CQC15-448203-2021 "Implementation Rules for Electromagnetic Compatibility and Performance Certification of Household Gas Appliances," and CQC12-461237-2009 "Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility Certification Rules for External Power Adapters, Chargers, and Built-in Switching Power Supplies for Household and Similar Appliances". The revised contents and relevant requirements are notified as follows:
I. Revised Contents
Certification is based on the GB17625.1-2022 standard instead of GB17625.1-2012.
II. Implementation Requirements
1. From now until June 30, 2024, applicants can voluntarily choose to apply for certification according to either the new standard or the old standard. Starting from July 1, 2024, CQC will implement certification based on the new standard and issue certificates accordingly.
2. For products that have obtained voluntary certification certificates based on the old standard, certificate holders should submit an application to CQC for converting the certificate to the new standard after the implementation of the new standard and before the completion of the next follow-up inspection. They should complete the product confirmation work according to the new standard and obtain the new standard-based certificate.
3. The conversion of certificates based on the old standard should be completed before July 1, 2025. If the conversion is not completed within the specified time, CQC will temporarily suspend the certificate. If the certificate conversion is not completed by October 1, 2025, it will be revoked.
