On June 10, 2023, the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), in collaboration with the National Technical Standards Innovation Base (Household Appliances), hosted the Inaugural Conference and First Academic Seminar of the Direct Current (DC) Electronic and Electrical Appliance Industry Alliance. Distinguished directors of this event included Gao Shanwu, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of Qingdao Administration for Market Regulation, Wang Penghai, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Director of Market Supervision Administration of Laoshan District, Ma Dejun, Vice President of China Association for Standardization and Vice President of China Battery Industry Association, Zhang Xiuchun, Secretary-General of China Association for Standardization, and Wang Ruohong, General Manager of the SDIC Bid Winning Quality Infrastructure Research Institute Co., Ltd. Notable leaders from international technical organizations such as UNDP China and the International Electrical Appliance Standards and Marking Cooperation Organization were in attendance at the conference.

Liu Gang, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of CQC, and Wang Ye, Vice President of Haier Group and General Manager of the National High-end Intelligent Home Appliance Innovation Center, delivered speeches on behalf of the alliance's initiating members. The conference was presided over by the leader of Product Certification Department II of CQC.

The Direct Current (DC) Electronic and Electrical Appliance Industry Alliance was launched by four organizations: The China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), National Technical Standards Innovation Base (Household Appliances), Haier Smart Home Co., Ltd., and SDIC Bid Winning Quality Infrastructure Research Institute Co., Ltd. The formation of the DC Electronic and Electrical Appliance Industry Alliance was formally announced in the presence of various witnesses. Ma Dejun was appointed as the first president of the alliance and delivered a report at the conference.

During the conference, the initiation ceremony of the Direct Current (DC) Electronic and Electrical Appliance Industry Alliance took place. Zhang Xiuchun and the leader of the CQC Qingdao Branch had the honors of bestowing licenses to representatives from the organizations that contributed to the preparation of the Technical Specifications for Performance Evaluation of Photovoltaic Modules for Offshore Photovoltaic Power Plants (CDV).

During the First Academic Seminar of the Direct Current (DC) Electronic and Electrical Appliance Industry Alliance, insightful presentations were delivered by prominent figures from several international organizations. Liu Shijun, Director of the Energy and Environment Division at UNDP China, Dr. Zeng Lei from the International Electrical Appliance Standards and Marking Cooperation Organization, and Dr. Xu Bin of the EU Standardization Expert Project Organization in China, all shared enlightening case studies from international organizations. Additionally, representatives from nine members, including Haier Smart Home Co., Ltd., CVC Certification & Testing Co., Ltd., China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute, the PEDF Professional Committee of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency, State Grid Xiong’an Integrated Energy Service Co., Ltd., among others, shared domestic pilot demonstration case studies. Furthermore, CQC provided an overview of the regulations and work plans of the industry alliance.

About 150 persons attended the conference, including NQI technology platform experts from organizations such as the PEDF Professional Committee of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency, Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Shandong Institute for Product Quality Inspection, and leaders of inspection and testing organizations and related enterprises from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, Zhejiang, etc. (Jointly submitted by the Product Certification Department II and Qingdao Branch).
