On June 8, 2023, the inaugural Data Center Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Quality Conference, jointly organized by the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) and the National Institute of Metrology, China, was successfully held in Yichang City, Hubei Province. Under the strong support of the Yichang Municipal Government and China Three Gorges Corporation, the conference attracted more than 240 delegates, including industry leaders, experts, and representatives from esteemed institutions such as the People's Bank of China, Shanghai Stock Data Service, Shenzhen Securities Communication Co., Ltd., and the National Supercomputer Center in Tianjin.

Liu Jiang, a member of the Party Committee and Vice Director of CQC, graced the conference with his presence and delivered a keynote speech. Liu emphasized the critical role that data centers play in the operation, transfer, storage, and usage of data elements. He underscored the need for systematic construction and operation to facilitate the green, healthy, and sustainable development of data centers in line with high-quality development goals. Liu also highlighted the crucial role of quality certification and inspection as regulatory tools to foster robust development within the industry. He expressed his hopes that the CQC will intensify collaborations and exchange experiences with government agencies, customers, and other stakeholders to elevate the quality of data center O&M, thereby infusing fresh vitality into industrial development.

The conference featured presentations from government and institutional representatives across the finance, cloud services, and computing services sectors, focusing on enhancing the O&M quality level of data centers in segmented industries. The event also served as the venue for the Establishment Ceremony of the Expert Committee for Data Center O&M Evaluation, as well as the Certificate-granting Ceremony of the Data Center Infrastructure O&M Evaluation Certificate.

In the era of Digital China, the certificate issued by CQC — an authority deeply immersed in data center activities — has become a symbolic "industry business card," reflecting the high-quality development level of the field. The conference not only advanced CQC’s comprehensive certification efforts in the data center domain but it also solidified CQC’s ties with local governments and industry-leading enterprises. This success establishes a sturdy foundation that will readily support the further development of "channeling computing resources from the east to the west," and the accelerated growth of the data center industry.
