Standard GB 17625.1-2022 "Electromagnetic compatibility—Limits—Part 1: Limits for harmonic current emissions (equipment input current ≤ 16A per phase)" ("new standard"), which is the referenced standard of compulsory product certification of electronic products and safety accessories (08/09), lighting appliances (1001/1002) and household and similar equipment (07), has been issued on December 29, 2022 to replace GB 17625.1-2012 (“old standard”) , and will be implemented from July 1, 2024. In order to ensure the effective implementation of the compulsory product certification system, CQC, in accordance with the Technical Resolution on the Implementation Mode of GB 17625.1-2022 Standard Revision Certification issued by TC10 Technical Expert Group of CNCA , now clarifies the relevant requirements for implementing the new standard as follows:

I. From the date of issuance of this notice to June 30, 2024, enterprises can voluntarily choose to implement certification according to the new or old standards. From July 1, 2024, the new standard shall be adopted to implement certification and issue the certificate based on the new standard

II. For products that have been certified according to the old standard, the holder of the certificate shall submit the application for certificate conversion to CQC in time, and complete the product confirmation and certificate renewal according to the new standard after the implementation date of the new standard and before the end of the first follow-up inspection. The conversion of certificates shall be completed before June 30, 2025 at the latest; If it is not completed within the time limit, CQC will suspend the certificate. If the certificate conversion has not been completed by September 30, 2025, CQC will revoke the certificate.

III. For certified products that have been delivered and put on the market before July 1, 2024 and are no longer produced, there is no need for certificate conversion.

IV. The implementation of compulsory product certification for electronic products and safety accessories (08/09), lighting appliances (1001/1002) and household and similar equipment (07) in this Notice does not exempt related products from the liability of complying with the relevant provisions of the Standardization Law of the People's Republic of China and the Product Quality Law of the People's Republic of China.

V. The relevant designated laboratories shall report to CQC the testing capability of the new standard, and shall record the qualification and accreditation of the new standard in time.
