GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) recently announced that, GSO Technical Committee is still studying the new release of the standard IEC 60335-2-24:2020 (Ed 8.0) “Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-24: Particular requirements for refrigerating appliances, ice-cream appliances and ice makers”, and it is not approved by GSO, therefore the old version IEC60335-2-24:2010+AMD1:2012+AMD2:2017 remains valid, although the two-year transition period ends, it is not necessary to update the current certificates from the Ed 7.2 to the latest version.

All certificates or test reports already issued according to IEC 60335-2-24 (Ed.8-2020) are still acceptable on a voluntary basis and will not require any revision to go back to the Edition 7.2, but for the new certificates, they will be issued according to the Edition 7.2, which is IEC 60335-2-24:2010+AMD1:2012+AMD2:2017 until further notice.
