To whom it may concern,

Further to the previous notice regarding expanding the scope of mandatory implementation of the Saudi IECEE recognition certificate, which will be implemented on July 1, 2021, recently, CQC received a supplementary notice from Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (hereinafter referred to as "SASO"), it announced that the aforementioned enforcement date will be postponed to September 1, 2021.

That is, starting from September 1, 2021, the following product categories will be added to the scope of mandatory implementation of Saudi IECEE recognition certificates:

l Electric water kettles

l Coffeemakers

l Home electric oil fryers

l Electric pumps (with capacity of 5 horses or less)

l Electric cable

l Video games devices and their accessories (control devices, wireless speakers, chargers and their accessories)

The scope of the IECEE recognition certificate previously announced by SASO includes:

l Electric water pump (with capacity of 5 horses or less)

l Mobiles and their accessories (wire and wireless electric charger, charger used in cars, wireless speakers for cell phones)

l Portable batteries and cell phone batteries

l Laptop, tablets and their accessories (laptop charger, tablet charger)

l Smart watches

l Smart Band

l Televisions and screens

l Dishwasher

l Light and its accessories

l Small photovoltaic solar systems

l Electric devices which used in electronic smoking systems

Applicants shall submit a request through the platform designated by SASO (http://jeem1.saso.gov.sa) and upload a valid CBTC and CBTR (including national differences) and other relevant materials issued by any National Certification Body (NCB). And SASO will issue the IECEE recognition certificate after reviewing and approving the request. On the basis of this certificate, applicants shall apply for the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) required for customs clearance.

China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), as the largest CB system National Certification Body (NCB) in China, has been designated by SASO, and it can provide related companies with various services such as CB certification, certification of products exported to Saudi Arabia, and GC-mark certification. CQC will constantly update the policies and requirements on the conformity assessment for products exported to GSO member states. Any consult will be welcomed.
