On February 9, 2021, the China Meteorological Administration issued Announcement No. 1 of 2021, announcing that the China Meteorological Administration's meteorological observation quality management system passed the overall certification audit of CQC in December 2020 and obtained the CQC ISO9001 certification. The acquirement of the certificate demonstrated that through nearly 4 years of construction, from pilots sites to following implementation, the meteorological observation quality management system has been fully established in the national meteorological department, which is in line with the ISO9001:2015 standard, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) "National Meteorological and Hydrological Department" Relevant requirements such as "Guidelines for the Implementation of Quality Management Systems for Other Related Service Providers". It is also of great significance for promoting the high-quality development of observation services, advancing the modernization of meteorology, accelerating the reform of the technology system, and realizing the comprehensive integration of China's meteorological industry with the international institution. Since 2017, CQC has assisted the CMA to improve the quality of meteorologic observation services and promote the establishment of a meteorological observation quality management system. In the future, CQC will continue to provide professional support to the CMA to seize the new development opportunity, drive forward the continuous improvement of the meteorological observation quality management system, strengthen the integration of the system and business operation, and achieve the full utilization of the system benefits. In the meanwhile, CQC will also contribute to explore new development pattern, accelerate the construction of information system, improve the talent cultivation and incentive mechanism, and provide strong support for the continuous operation of the system.
