On September 4, 2020, the project of accurate poverty alleviation with carbon trading in Liuzhou Guangxi, planned by the Liuzhou Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau and developed by the China Quality Certification Centre, was officially launched in Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County of Liuzhou. Deputy Director of Guangxi Ecology and Environment Bureau Ou Bo, Liuzhou Deputy Mayor Zhu Futing, and Deputy Director of CQC Qi Shuang attended the launching ceremony and issued plaques and certificates to companies purchasing carbon sinks.
Qi Shuang said in his speech that the project of accurate poverty alleviation with carbon trading in Liuzhou is based on the practical situation of Liuzhou’s ecological environment, fully integrating the development of ecological civilization and accurate poverty alleviation, using carbon trading as a quantitative tool and trading platform software as the medium to help people get rid of poverty. In the future, CQC will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Guangxi ecological environment system and the Liuzhou Municipal Government, introducing more resources and supports in the fields of energy conservation, carbon reduction, and quality improvement into Guangxi, so as to integrate Guangxi into the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay in providing technical services in all areas including quality, environment, climate, ecology.
After the launching ceremony, more than 40 people from Guangxi Department of Ecology and Environment, Liuzhou Municipal Government, CQC and representatives from all walks of life went to Liuzhou carbon sink demonstration site-Yanjiao Village, Sanjiang County and purchased carbon sinks.
