To whom it may concern,
Further to the previous notice regarding the update of the implementation date for the additional requirements for plugs and socket-outlets/cord extension sets for GC-mark Certification, CQC would like to inform all the relevant clients that according to the latest announcement released by GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) recently, the implementation date was updated again as the following:

Based on the above timeline, CQC makes the following notifications and adjustments:
1. For plugs and socket-outlets/cord extension sets intended to be placed onto GCC member states market, if the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is one of its target countries, KSA national requirements should be considered and the specific standards shall implemented via GC-mark certification procedure.
2. Plugs and socket-outlets: SASO 2203
a) For plugs and socket-outlets to be placed onto KSA market, CQC will not issue any G-mark certificate that doesn’t contain SASO 2203 after 1st November 2020;
b) For existing certificate, if KSA is one of its target countries and it doesn’t contain SASO 2203, it will be only valid before 1st January 2021. Besides, it can’t be used for releasing shipment from the port in KSA after 2nd February 2021.
3. Cord extension sets: GSO 2117
a) For cord extension sets to be placed onto KSA market, CQC will not issue any G-mark certificate that doesn’t contain GSO 2117 after 30th June 2020;
b) For existing certificate, if KSA is one of its target countries and it doesn’t contain GSO 2117, it will be only valid before 15th July 2020. Besides, it can’t be used for releasing shipment from the port in KSA after 6th August 2020.
4. The certificate holders shall complete updating the standards before the certificates become invalid, if the manufacturers do not comply with this requirement, CQC will make some adjustment to the certificates by removing the KSA until the manufacturers comply with these requirements.
