On May 28, 2020, as the secretariat of Household Products Working Committee of China Association for Consumer Products Quality and Safety Promotion (CACPQSP), CQC convened an online conference for three association standard validation in Beijing, including Technical Requirements for Environmental Protection Grade Evaluation of Wooden Office Furniture, Technical Requirements for Environmental Protection Grade Evaluation of Metal Office Furniture and Technical Requirements for Environmental Protection Grade Evaluation of Upholstered Office Furniture.

The jury strictly reviewed the draft of standards and approved unanimously. These three standards are all based on extensive data collection and statistics and can make a comprehensive evaluation on environmental protection performance of office furniture products in an objective and scientific way. The issuance of these standards will fill in the gap of grading evaluation and “best of the best” principle for products of the office furniture industry, and also lay a technological foundation for CACPQSP and certification bodies to roll out the training, evaluation, and certification work of furniture industry in the future.
