The Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment of Wuhan City Passed the Acceptance

On July 12th, 2019, a 2018 low-carbon project called "the Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment of Wuhan City" undertaken by CQC Wuhan Branch has successfully passed the acceptance by experts.

A research group was set up by CQC Wuhan Branch in cooperation with various institutions, including National Taiwan University, Wuhan Meteorological Bureau, Wuhan Civil Affairs Bureau, Wuhan Water Bureau and Wuhan Municipal Commission of Urban Management. It was aimed to understand the effect of climate change on Wuhan City as well as its vulnerabilities and support the pilot project of climate-adaptive urban construction in Wuhan City. Over the past year, the research group has summarized the achievements and progress of climate change work in various departments of Wuhan City systematically and reported the work of Wuhan City on climate change vulnerability comprehensively and scientifically. Through various models and circumstances, it has studied the vulnerability of Wuhan City under climate change in recent ten years, and assessed the risk, adaptation level and vulnerability of the lifeline system, primary and secondary industries and water resources of Wuhan City. It has put forward some countermeasures and suggestions and made "The Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment Report of Wuhan City".

It is believed by the expert group that scientific methods and standards for urban climate change vulnerability assessment are put forward in the project, which is conducive to the establishment of technical regulations for urban climate change vulnerability assessment. It has passed the acceptance by unanimous agreement.
