Recently, as reported by several local and central government’s media, CQC completed the preliminary certification and review of the meteorological observation quality management system of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), and issued the certificate.
This certification project is the largest single-system certification project undertaken by CQC, covering management organizations at the national, province, city, and county levels, as well as tens of thousands of meteorological observation stations, national benchmark/basic stations, regional stations, weather radar stations, focusing on various observation types, including high altitude, thunder and lightning, soil moisture, etc. The on-site verification lasted for more than three months and conducted across a distance of tens of thousands of kilometers. Based on these results, the experts had proposed an improvement direction for the quality management system of CMA, which turned out to be effective in promoting the high-quality development of the observation services performed under the meteorological system, hence winning high appraisals and recognitions from CMA.
Deputy Director of CMA Yu Xinwen and Vice President of CQC Li Guozhen attended the final meeting for the review and delivered speeches.
