On December 17, 2019, the 8th National Conference on Accreditation Work of Conformity Assessment Bodies was held in Quanzhou, Fujian Province. Tang Jun, Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), and Wang Fengqing, Honorary Director of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) attended and made speeches at the conference. Liu Weijun, Director-General of the Department of Certification of SAMR, Xu Xinjian, Director-General of the Department of Accreditation, Inspection and Testing of SAMR, and Huang Peihui, Director of the Fujian Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, attended the meeting. Xiao Jianhua, secretary general of CNAS, made a work report, and the CNAS Executive Committee attended the conference.

Lu Mei, Managing Director of CQC/Deputy Chief Executive of the Executive Committee of CNAS, attended the conference as well as representatives of 250 accredited conformity assessment bodies across the country.

The accreditation working conference confirmed the great progress attained in deepening accreditation, certification, inspection and testing reform over the past year, not only strengthening supervision, but also consolidating and deepening the achievements of international cooperation. Through reviewing the development of accreditation work over the years, the conference stressed the importance of keeping track of the latest conditions and requirements of accreditation work in the new age, enhancing the sense of responsibility and mission, and continuing to promote the healthy and high-quality development of accreditation work. In addition, the conference also reported on the main progress of accreditation work at home and abroad.
