GSO Conformity Tracking System Introductory Meeting, jointly organized by GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) and Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) in cooperation with CQC was held on November 11, 13 and 15 in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing.
Two technical experts from GSO Conformity Assessment Technical Committee, Mr. Abdesselam Benyaich and Mr. Ibrahim Alhashef explained in detail to the participants the legal framework, technical regulations and changes in the GSO Conformity Tracking System. The International Cooperation Office of the Certification Administration Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation introduced the functions of CNCA and China's certification system. The manager of CQC International Cooperation Department took the Belt and Road initiative as the entry point to introduce its international certification business and its development in the Gulf in recent years.
The meeting is the first time that GSO introduced the the obligations/rights to the economic operators (including manufacturers, exporters, suppliers, etc.) in the certification activities according to the GSO technical regulations. In the Q&A session, participants also actively discussed with GSO experts on difficulties and confusions currently encountered, which is of great significance for the future implementation of GSO technology regulations of low voltage appliances and toys in China.
