The standard of GB/T 18287-2013“General specification of lithium-ion cells and batteries for mobile phone” has been released by the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China on Jun. 19^h, 2013. It will take effect to replace GB/T18287-2000 on Sep. 15^st, 2013. Meanwhile, CQC will release new implementation of "safety certification rule for lithium-ion cells and batteries for mobile phones and smart terminals".

1.From Sep 15^st, 2013, certificate should be issued according to the new standard.

2.Certificate holders whose product is certified according to old standards should submit the application for the change of standard before the next follow-up inspection, and take differential test to make the product in conformity with the new standard. The certificate for the change of standard required to be accomplished by Sep, 15st, 2014, otherwise, the certificate will be suspended, and finally will be withdraw by Dec, 15st, 2014.

3.Details of change: the replacement of new standard of GB/T18287-2013. Scope of certification is modified to “cells and batteries for mobile phone, pad, wearable equipments, smart terminals, etc", adjustment of the requirement to verification test and routine test.
