A substantive progress to CDM-DOE: CQC got indicative letter from UNFCCC -CDM-EB-AP

The CDM accreditation panel (CDM-AP), of the CDM Executive Board (EB) of United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), at its 36th meeting held on 7-9 September 2008, issued the indicative letter to China Quality Certification Center (CQC) for its successful completion of the desk review and the on-site assessment, and accredited all the applied 13 sectoral scopes as follows: Renewable/non-renewable energy, Energy distribution, Energy demand, Manufacturing industries, Chemical industry, Transport, Construction, Fugitive gas (such as coal-bed gas), Metal production, HFC, SF6, Waste landfill, etc. This marks a substantive progress for CQC to apply for the designated operational entities (DOE) under the CDM, which will accelerate the development of CDM in China as well.

Meanwhile, CQC got the accreditation of the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) and Tianjin Climate Exchange (TCX) respectively as the third-party verifiers of the voluntary Greenhouse gas (GHS) emission reduction trading under voluntary mechanism.

Having good expertise in the field of the local and sectoral policies and regulations, CQC will provide efficient and high-quality services of GHG validation & verification impartially, objectively and independently under the UNFCCC-CDM and other voluntary GHG emission reduction with the guiding principles of Impartial and standardized, faithful and high efficient, superior quality and scientific, innovative and outstanding.
