In early November, two important international convention were held in Shanghai with a refreshing autumn weather: the World Engineer’s Convention and the Asian Development Bank Convention. The CQC delegation led by Director Li Huai-lin received much attention of the meeting representatives and the media.
In the opening of the Asian Development Bank meeting held on November 4, the Director Li Huai-lin was invited to give an English speech entitled "Certification and investment risk control". The speech was centered around the topic of the convention-- "political risks, trade credit and goods and project financing". By introducing the history of the certification and the development of the certification in China, the direct Li Huai-lin expatiated on the relation ship of the certification and the investment risk,. He also pointed out the effect and the way of the certification for avoiding financial risk with vivid metaphor, informative data and vivid examples. His speech was very success and received a great deal of attention of the meeting representatives. Many senior manager of the financial organized such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the American International Group (AIG), the Chubb Corporation, the HVB Bank, Sovereign Risk Insurance Corporation explored the certification issue with director Li Huai-lin. They also expressed their willingness to cooperate with CQC.
The World Engineer’s Convention held in 2004 was encouraged by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations and the UNESCO. This convention was held in Shanghai on Nov. 2-6. During this time, a large number of well-known experts and scholar at home or abroad went to Shanghai to attend this convention. Director Li Huai-lin, one of the chairpersons of the fifth theme “agricultural engineering and food safety” of the convention, moderated the meeting held in the morning on Nov. 5. He also gave a report entitled “Chinese food safety and food chain process control”. This report focused on the CQC’s work. The CQC worked very hard in order to carry out the plan of the Chinese government that to strengthen the food safety so as to protect the health and safety of consumers. The CQC also worked hard on promoting the certification on HACCP. All of these work received a strong response from the participants as well as a great impact of the community. The experts from CQC also exchanged experience with the participants from relevant organization during the convention time. |
